Baker County is a county located in the U.S. state of Oregon. As of the 2010 census, the population was 16,134. The county seat is Baker City. The county was established on September 22, 1862, and is named for Edward Dickinson Baker, a senator from Oregon who served in the Mexican-American War and was killed at the Battle of Ball’s Bluff during the American Civil War.
