Anson County is a county located in the U.S. state of North Carolina. As of the 2010 census, the population was 26,948. Its county seat is Wadesboro. The county was formed in 1750 from parts of Bladen County, Granville County, and Rowan County. It was named for George Anson, Baron Anson, who was a member of the British Parliament and the first Lord of the Admiralty.
