Gogebic County is a county located in the Upper Peninsula of the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2010 census, the population was 16,427. The county seat is Bessemer. The county was created by the Michigan Legislature in 1887 from parts of Iron and Ontonagon counties and was named for Lake Gogebic, the largest lake in the Upper Peninsula.
