Butler County is a county in the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of the 2010 census, the population was 16,691. The county seat is Morgantown. The county was formed in 1810 from parts of Ohio and Logan counties and is named for General Richard Butler, who was killed at the Battle of the Wabash in 1791.
