Chattanooga Valley is a small unincorporated community in northwest Georgia, located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. The community is situated along Chickamauga Creek, which flows into the Tennessee River just north of Chattanooga. The area was first settled in the early 1800s by farmers and loggers, and the name “Chattanooga Valley” is thought to come from the Cherokee word for “river of death.” Today, Chattanooga Valley is home to a few hundred residents and is a popular destination for hiking, fishing, and camping.
