Pickens County, AL is a county located in the state of Alabama. As of the 2010 census, the population was 19,746. The county seat is Carrollton. The county was established on December 21, 1820, from parts of Shelby and Tuscaloosa counties. It is named for Andrew Pickens, a Revolutionary War hero from South Carolina.
